Terms of Use

The rules for using PetPrep, written to be read.

1. The service

PetPrep is provided by Data Vallis, Maribor, Slovenia. PetPrep is a simulation that helps families find out whether a child is ready to care for a real pet. It is an educational tool, not veterinary advice, and it does not guarantee how a child will care for a real animal.

2. Accounts

  • Accounts are created by adults (parents or legal guardians). You are responsible for the children you add and for keeping your password safe.
  • Children use PetPrep only through a profile created by their parent and log in with a code from the parent.
  • Provide accurate information and keep login codes private.

3. Free and paid features

  • The mixed-breed pet is free.
  • The 12-week PetPrep Challenge costs €49.99 per pet and includes a 7-day free trial. Siblings sharing one pet pay one price.
  • Purchases, trials, refunds and cancellations are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their terms.

4. Fair use

  • Do not try to cheat the step count, access other families' data, reverse engineer or disrupt the service.
  • We may limit or suspend accounts that break these rules or put children at risk.

5. AI-generated content

Pet images and videos are generated by AI. They are illustrations of a simulated pet and may not perfectly match any real animal or breed standard. Future AI assistant features provide general information only, never a diagnosis, and always point to a real veterinarian.

6. Intellectual property

PetPrep, its logo, design, software and content belong to Data Vallis. You may use the app for your family's personal, non-commercial use.

7. Liability

We work to keep PetPrep available and accurate, but the service is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage or for decisions about getting a real pet. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

8. Ending use

You can delete your account at any time in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Slovenia. Consumers may also rely on the mandatory protections of the country where they live and use the EU online dispute resolution platform.
