Can dogs eat apple seeds?
No, apple seeds should be avoided. They contain cyanide, and the core and stem around them could choke your dog. A small number of seeds is unlikely to cause harm, but remove the seeds and core before sharing apple.

Why
The ASPCA lists the apple plant as toxic to dogs: its stems, leaves and seeds contain cyanide (from cyanogenic glycosides). AKC says a small number of seeds is unlikely to cause harm, and Pet Poison Helpline says a pet would need to eat massive amounts to be of concern. We follow the stricter view because the seeds contain cyanide and the core can also cause choking or intestinal obstruction.
Signs to watch for

- Dilated pupils
- Difficulty breathing, panting

- Signs of digestive trouble or blockage
