Can dogs eat pomegranate?
Not recommended. Pomegranates aren't toxic to dogs, but that doesn't make the fruit safe: the seeds can cause stomach trouble and a digestive tract blockage, and pieces of rind and stem can cause an obstruction. It's safer not to give fresh pomegranate.

Why
The AKC's chief veterinarian says pomegranates aren't toxic to dogs. The seeds, the part people usually eat, can still cause gastrointestinal issues and a digestive tract blockage. Pieces of rind and stem can cause an obstruction, especially in smaller dogs. Pomegranate extract in products made for dogs is a different matter from the fresh fruit.
Signs to watch for
- Diarrhoea
