Can cats eat sardines?
Yes, as an occasional treat. Tinned sardines in spring water can be offered now and then, watching out for bones. They shouldn't become the main part of a cat's diet.

Why
RSPCA Australia says fish such as tinned sardines in spring water can be offered as an occasional treat, taking care with bones, but are not suitable as the main part of the diet. Cats Protection advises fish be properly cooked, with bones removed, and given only a few pieces at a time.
What to do
Offer a small piece first. If your cat gets vomiting or diarrhoea afterwards, stop and ask your vet.
How to give it
Tinned in spring water, with bones removed; a few pieces now and then.
